EMDR
EMDR therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is used to help access and process difficult past experiences and develop new insights and positive cognitions. EMDR uses bilateral movements to access the brain’s natural healing abilities and can bypass the need to verbally process in depth. It was originally used a therapy treatment to alleviate the distress of traumatic memories and has been widely researched and expanded in practice. This treatment is effective for all ages and has been widely researched and supported by the therapeutic communities.
I use EMDR as a tool in my practice when appropriate and in collaboration with clients readiness. I work with adults, teens and school age children.
Some Challenges EMDR can support:
Anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias
Grief and loss
Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and other stress-related issues
Depression and bipolar disorders
Performance anxiety
And Many more!
